Municipal Court Warrants in Burnet County
Municipal judges hear city-ordinance and fine-only Class C matters, including many traffic tickets. A missed appearance, unpaid judgment, or failure to complete a court condition can produce a warrant, FTA, or capias pro fine. Each city's court controls its own case record and resolution.
A Burnet County sheriff search would not replace a municipal clerk call. Check the city named on the citation, then ask whether a JP or another court owns the matter if the issuing officer was not city police.
Burnet County City Warrant Routes
Burnet Municipal Court provides an online citation portal and a warrant page with a monthly listing. Its stated $75 warrant fee and $10 or $30 OmniBase charge depend on issue date, with a later collection fee possible after referral. Photo ID must match the card used for warrant payment.
Marble Falls has a separate Online Services registry. Search by name or citation number with date of birth; an open violation can show “Warrant Issued.” If full payment is not possible, the court directs the person to request a judge hearing. The two cities do not share one court search.
Use only the official Burnet warrant instructions or Marble Falls warrant page when confirming payment and status.
Which Cities Have Municipal Courts
County directory materials list seven city courts. Unincorporated-area traffic and fine-only cases generally route through one of the four JP precincts. A city resident should follow the issuing agency on the citation, not assume the closest courthouse holds the case.
| City | Court | What It Handles |
|---|---|---|
| Burnet | Burnet Municipal Court | City traffic, ordinance, and FTA warrants; monthly listing. |
| Marble Falls | Marble Falls Municipal Court | City citations; online registry and judge-hearing route. |
| Granite Shoals | Municipal Court of Record | Class C and ordinance matters; call clerk for warrant status. |
| Bertram | Bertram Municipal Court | City cases; no public warrant portal located. |
| Cottonwood Shores | Cottonwood Shores Municipal Court | City traffic and ordinance matters; call court. |
| Meadowlakes | Municipal Court of Record #1 | Clerk maintains warrants and payment agreements. |
| Horseshoe Bay | Horseshoe Bay Municipal Court | City court; official materials identify Llano County. |
Horseshoe Bay Warrant County-Line
Horseshoe Bay appears in Burnet County's Magistrate directory, but its municipal-court deferred-disposition document identifies Llano County. Its own court contact is City Center, 9101 W. FM 2147, 830-598-9975. Verify the court named on the citation before sending money or asking for a hearing.
Bertram's official city domain has no warrant lookup in the reviewed material. The county Magistrate page lists 110 E. Vaughan Street and 512-355-2197. The official screenshot below is a city navigation page, not a warrant roster.
Visit the City of Bertram's official site for its public court route.
Call the listed court before visiting because current public hours and a search portal were not located.
How to Check a Municipal Court Warrant
Burnet's and Marble Falls' official portals are the first online channels. For Granite Shoals, Bertram, Cottonwood Shores, Meadowlakes, or Horseshoe Bay, the documented route is to call the municipal clerk; no current public name-search fields were found for those courts.
- Match the ticket to the city and court printed on it.
- For Burnet or Marble Falls, use the city's official citation or warrant portal and the requested DOB field.
- For the other listed cities, call the clerk with the case or citation number and ask about current warrant status.
- Ask whether the person must appear, whether a judge hearing is available, and how a payment or court order is reported.
Burnet County Municipal Warrant Search
The portals have different scopes. Burnet's several search modes still return City of Burnet court records. Marble Falls uses a separate registry. A no-match result in either does not query Granite Shoals, a JP precinct, or the county sheriff.
The county Magistrate page also mentions a Court Records Search site that requires a visitor login and password. It does not expose warrant-specific fields or say it is a public warrant portal, so do not present it as one.
If an online route fails, call the court first. The clerk can say whether the citation is filed there or belongs with another court.
What a Municipal Court Warrant Shows
No countywide municipal warrant schema was located. Burnet and Marble Falls expose different search fields, and several smaller-city courts do not publish a public search screen. The case number and city named on the ticket are the most useful identifiers for a clerk call.
| Reference | Citation or cause number; no shared municipal warrant format was published. |
|---|---|
| Case type | City ordinance, Class C, traffic, failure to appear, or capias pro fine. |
| Issuing court | Names the city court; verify the court matches the ticket. |
| Balance or bond | Ask the clerk to separate fine, fees, bond, and reinstatement amounts. |
| Status | Ask whether the order is open, served, recalled, or cleared. |
Marble Falls Warrant Docket
Marble Falls' adopted FY2024-25 budget says the court began a once-monthly open-court day for people with warrants and used alternate ways to resolve balances before the judge. The proposed FY2025-26 budget reports 640 actual Class C warrants and 531 actual FTA, contempt, or violation-of-promise cases for FY2023-24, with 450 Class C warrants projected for FY2025-26.
Those are municipal performance figures, not a current active list or a county total. Call the court at 830-693-7173 for the current docket and eligibility. The city warrant page says people unable to pay in full may request a judge hearing.
Resolving a Municipal Court Warrant
The issuing municipal court decides whether payment alone clears its warrant or whether a judge must act. Marble Falls offers a hearing request if full payment is not possible; Burnet says to contact its clerk. Granite Shoals lists payment routes but says a phone call is not an appearance except for initial-appearance dates printed on the citation.
- Confirm the city court, citation number, current status, and itemized amount.
- Ask whether full payment, a plan, compliance dismissal, deferred disposition, or a judge hearing applies.
- Verify accepted payment and any required ID before sending funds or visiting.
- Keep the order or receipt, ask when the warrant and DPS report should update, and confirm the next court date.
Warning: A city warrant can remain open after an online payment until the court reports it; confirm clearance and any new setting with the clerk.
Granite Shoals Warrant Procedure
Granite Shoals Municipal Court of Record is at City Hall, 2221 N. Phillips Ranch Road, first floor. The clerk's line is 830-598-2424 extension 705, with office hours Monday through Friday, 8 to 4:30. Regular court dates are the first and third Wednesday each month.
Full payment may be mailed, placed in the secure City Hall box, made in person, or paid online. The box accepts no cash. Include the name, date of birth, and citation number on court correspondence. For an issued warrant, call the clerk and ask whether a judge appearance or reinstatement is required.
Granite Shoals' written public-record request route goes to the City Secretary; it is for existing records, not an instant status search.
